EAM CMMS HolisTech™ Horizon Modules
HolisTech™ Horizon is an integrated Computerized Maintenance Management System (EAM CMMS) that encompasses various interrelated ‘modules’ all of which are used to control, manage, review and report on the following for organizational ‘Assets’ (i.e. the identified maintainable equipment and entities of the organization):
-
Information concerning the Assets
-
The physical work done, or planned to be done, on the Assets
-
The costs of work done, or planned to be done, on the Assets
-
The personnel involvement in work for the Assets (including time, skills and Health & Safety)
-
The spares and equipment used for (or likely to be used for) the work on Assets
-
The procurement activity to support the work on the Assets
The Core Modules for HolisTech™ Horizon include:
Asset Register Control
The core of any EAM CMMS is its Asset Register. If the Asset Register is incomplete, flawed, difficult to understand or difficult to manipulate, the foundations of a Planned Preventive (PPM) system and its supporting Stores Management System will both be equally flawed and ineffective.
‘HolisTech™ Horizon Asset Control’ gives information on how to successfully set-up and operate the core Asset Register functionality of the system.
Tee Card
Strategic Maintenance Planning Ltd. has developed a fully integrated ‘Tee Card’ module.
Essentially all tasks whether they are Planned Maintenance, Work Orders, Breakdowns or Requests can be created, edited or managed via the Tee Card’s drag and drop functionality. The Tee Card module offers complete control and a visual overview with drill down functionality to core data.
End-users only require access to the Tee Card module simplifying their experience and eliminating the need to access multiple modules. The following images give an overview of the Tee Card module’s functionality.

Human Resources Control
An EAM CMMS is a software tool that helps Engineering Management to plan, record and justify activity for organizational Assets. This work is undertaken by trained personnel who are, in general, a scarce resource. ‘HolisTech™ Horizon Human Resources Management’ helps to determine the best utilization of this resource and allows decisions to be made based on an effective resolution of human resource issues.
Help Desk Requests
The ‘Help Desk Request’ functionality of HolisTech™ Horizon allows anyone with appropriate access to electronically request work to be completed by the Maintenance Function of the organization.
Stock Inventory Control
The Stock Control module of HolisTech™ Horizon is where all stock holdings of Spares Items to support the operation and maintenance of Assets recorded in the Asset Register are recorded and controlled.
Purchase Requisitions
The Purchase Ordering module of HolisTech™ Horizon can be utilized either with the Requisition System or without it. Assuming the Requisition System is in use and all operations are enabled for the user, prior to placing a Purchase Order, a Requisition can be generated. This will allow users without any purchasing authority to raise a Requisition which an authorized user may then convert into a Purchase Order or reject if not approved.
Purchase Ordering
This module will allow users with the appropriate security and configuration to create Purchase Orders, Receipt Goods as full or part deliveries, Receipt Invoices and manage Credit Notes.
Purchase Orders can be generated automatically based on minimum stock levels and re-order settings or very quickly by converting a Purchase Requisition into a Purchase Order. Once raised an order may be electronically authorized with order status easily managed within the Purchase Order Dashboard.
Planned Preventive Maintenance – Calendar Based
Calendar Based Planned Maintenance is the most common form of scheduling maintenance tasks, HolisTech™ Horizon has many unique features to allow for simple, quick and effective scheduling.
Drag and drop functionality coupled with creation wizards, floating or fixed date configuration as well as version control, globalized maintenance instructions and multi-lingual functionality make HolisTech™ Horizon's planned maintenance module a very powerful tool indeed.
Planned Preventive Maintenance – Meter Based
Another form of planned maintenance scheduling would be meter based whereby the maintenance tasks are generated based upon a meter reading such as run hours, number of operations or simply when a particular set point has been reached.
Condition Based Maintenance (CBM)
HolisTech™ Horizon can be configured such that an asset or sub-asset's condition is monitored so that when a tolerance limit is reached a Work Order is generated automatically in the software to investigate the cause. CBM would include for example, vibration analysis, oil debris analysis, thermography and even simple monitoring such as visual inspections. The readings from complex condition monitoring equipment can be interfaced into HolisTech™ Horizon to automate the process of recording and trending the readings. Alternatively the readings may be imported or simply typed into the software to trend, report and if out of limits trigger an investigative Work Order.
Work Orders – One Off Planned Maintenance
Work Orders are planned one-off tasks that may arise from a request, breakdown, CBM, planned maintenance inspection or ad-hoc. They can however be "chained" to build up a number of related Work Orders to generate what is in effect a project. Work Orders can be created for Assets, Sub-Assets or Positions and include the same level of detail as a Planned Maintenance task to include, kiting lists, resources, drawing attachments, H&S risk assessments and calibration details.
Equipment Failure Recording
When an asset fails it is vital that this information is recorded in order to be able to report upon plant performance. Typical breakdown reporting include Mean Time Between Failure, Mean Time To Repair, Top 10 Asset Failures by; Position, Group, System and Total Downtime for a Period to name but a few.
HolisTech™ Horizon's Equipment Failure Module will allow for the recording of all necessary breakdown information as well as providing a costing analysis to build up a picture of how much assets are costing to maintain, allowing for the justification of capital expenditure.
Shift Log
The Shift Log is an automated one stop shop to detail all outstanding and completed task from each job stream, whether that's Planned Maintenance, Work Orders, Requests, Breakdowns or CBM. Additionally it offers a manual entry diary for maintenance to record whatever information they choose.
Safety and Health Hazard/Risk Assessments
Assessing the risks that people may face whilst in the course of the operation of the workplace is a vital and obligatory part of modern business.
To assist managers in complying with regulations, HolisTech™ Horizon includes a Safety & Health Hazard/Risk Assessment module that is held within the Planned Maintenance and Work Order functions of the system. The HolisTech™ Horizon hazard/risk assessment functionality can be used to analyze the risks involved in carrying out a Planned Maintenance or Work Order task and can electronically complete the following activities;
-
Define the ‘Categories of Risk’ that may be present when a task is being carried out
-
Record the people that may be at risk when a task is being carried out
-
Define the likelihood of an accident occurring and the likely severity of injury should an accident occur whilst a task is being carried out
-
Recommend that Control Measures be put in place to control identified risks and protect the identified people
-
Allow the controlled authorization of the Risk Assessment by competent personnel
-
Automatically append the results of the authorized Risk Assessment to work generated from HolisTech™
-
Automatically append the requisite Control Measures to work generated from HolisTech™
-
Store and manage Risk Assessment information and ensure that every repetitive PPM task subsequently issued by HolisTech™ has a full assessment, with requisite Control Measures, provided automatically
This process means that as a person physically picks work issued from HolisTech™ Horizon, a Hazard/Risk Assessment of that task is immediately apparent and must be signed for as having been read. This prevents any inconsistency in individual standards and gives a baseline of security for managers who are responsible for safe working conditions.
Reports
There are over 204 standard reports and graphs within the HolisTech™ Horizon EAM/CMMS with a multitude of filtering and sorting options. Many reports are highly graphical in nature to give quick and easy representation of facts and figures.
The Reporting module is where the user can print and view preconfigured reports for each module within the software. As all modules within the system are updated the reports return useful user information which can be used as ‘Key Performance Indicators’ for maintenance reporting and reliability improvement activities.
The Reporting Module can be used to report on every module within the system. There are reports covering the following core modules:
-
Asset Reports 34 off Reports
